Terms & Conditions

Effective 03/15/2026
These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Deus Vult Defense (“we,” “us,” or “our”) to you (“Customer” or “you”). By submitting a firearm or requesting services, you agree to these Terms. These Terms are effective as of 03/15/2026 and may be updated periodically.

1. Services and Scope of Work

  • We provide gunsmithing services including repairs, modifications, customizations, refinishing, and installations as detailed in the work order.
  • All work is performed based on the specifications provided in the written work order. Any changes must be approved in writing and may incur additional fees.
  • Estimated turnaround times are provided but not guaranteed due to workload, parts availability, or unforeseen issues. We will notify you of any delays.
  • You authorize us to test fire your firearm as necessary to diagnose issues and verify completed work. Test firing is a normal part of gunsmithing and the associated round count and wear are expected and not compensable.
  • Customer-supplied parts are installed at your risk. We provide no warranty on customer-supplied parts, are not responsible for fit, function, or failure of such parts, and labor charges remain due in full even if a customer-supplied part proves defective or unsuitable.

2. Customer Responsibilities and Representations

  • You represent that you are at least 18 years old (or 21 for handguns where required by law) and legally authorized to own and possess the firearm(s) submitted.
  • You affirm that the firearm is legally owned by you and not stolen, prohibited, or modified in violation of federal, state, or local laws (e.g., ATF regulations).
  • You must provide accurate contact information and a detailed description of the requested work.
  • You acknowledge the inherent risks involved in gunsmithing, including potential damage to the firearm, malfunction, or personal injury from use. You voluntarily accept these risks.
  • Firearms must be unloaded and safely packaged when shipped or dropped off. We are not responsible for ammunition or accessories unless specified.

3. Payments, Deposits, and Fees

  • For most work, payment is collected upon completion rather than in advance. For exceptionally large projects, we may require a deposit before work begins; deposit amounts are stated on the work order. Deposits are applied to your final balance. If you cancel after work has begun or parts have been ordered, the deposit is non-refundable to the extent of labor performed and parts costs incurred.
  • Full payment is due upon completion and before return of the firearm. We accept Credit, Checks, or Cash.
  • Prices are subject to change based on actual labor, parts, or additional work approved by you.
  • Firearms not picked up or paid for within 14 days of completion notification accrue a storage fee of $5 per day until the balance is paid and the firearm is retrieved.
  • Minimum shop charge per work order is $40. Diagnostic fees apply even if no work can be performed.

4. Shipping and Returns

  • Contact us before shipping any firearm so we can issue a work order and confirm shipping instructions. Do not ship a firearm to us unannounced.
  • Federal law permits you to ship a firearm directly to us for repair or modification; no FFL transfer is required on your end for long guns sent by mail.
  • Rifles and shotguns: may be shipped directly to us via USPS. The firearm must be unloaded, and you must declare the contents to the postal clerk when presenting the package.
  • Handguns (pistols, revolvers, and other concealable firearms): federal law prohibits non-licensees from mailing handguns through USPS, and UPS and FedEx do not accept firearm shipments from non-licensed individuals. Handguns must be shipped to us through a licensed FFL dealer or an FFL-partnered shipping service. Contact us and we will help you arrange the correct method.
  • Packaging requirements: the firearm must be unloaded, no ammunition may be included in the package, and federal law prohibits any markings or labels on the outside of the package indicating that it contains a firearm.
  • All shipments must include a copy of your ID, your work order details, and your return address inside the package. Please email us the tracking number once shipped.
  • Inbound shipping costs and carrier arrangements are your responsibility. We are not liable for loss or damage occurring in transit to us.
  • Return shipping complies with ATF rules; firearms sent to us for service may be returned directly to the person from whom they were received. Return shipping is billed on your final invoice. Returned firearms require an adult signature at delivery; we will not ship to an address where a signature cannot be obtained.

5. Warranties and Guarantees

  • We warrant our workmanship against defects in materials or labor under normal use.
  • Warranties do not cover misuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear. Firearm manufacturer warranties may be voided by our work; check with the manufacturer.
  • Parts warranties are limited to the manufacturer's terms. We make no express or implied warranties beyond those stated.
  • Any warranty claims must be submitted in writing with proof of service. Remedies are limited to repair or replacement at our discretion.
  • Refinishing work (bluing, Cerakote, parkerizing, etc.) may reveal pre-existing defects such as pitting, prior repairs, or poor original workmanship once the existing finish is removed. Correcting revealed defects is additional work at additional cost. Color and finish representations are approximate.
  • Gunsmithing work, including refinishing and modification, may reduce the collector or resale value of vintage, antique, or collectible firearms. You accept this risk, and we are not liable for any diminished collector value resulting from work you authorized.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from our services, including but not limited to loss of life, personal injury, or property damage.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages resulting from your firearm's use, your breach of these Terms, or any third-party claims.
  • We are not responsible for the safety or functionality of the firearm after it leaves our possession.

7. Abandonment of Property

  • Firearms not picked up or paid for within 30 days of completion notification will be considered abandoned and may be sold to recover costs, per applicable state laws.
  • We will attempt to contact you via provided information before deeming property abandoned, and reserve the right to resell the firearm at our discretion 30 days after the completion notification.

8. Compliance with Laws

  • All services comply with federal (e.g., ATF, NFA) and state firearm laws. We reserve the right to refuse service if we suspect illegality.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your firearm complies with laws in your jurisdiction upon return.
  • NFA-regulated items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, machine guns, etc.) are accepted only with prior approval before shipping or drop-off. You must provide a copy of the approved tax stamp (or other proof of lawful registration) with the item. We will not perform work on NFA items that would constitute unlawful manufacture or modification, and we reserve the right to decline any NFA work at our discretion.
  • Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) are illegal in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington (with the District of Columbia also prohibiting them under similar restrictions). We will not do any work with FRTs for customers residing in any of those states.

9. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Louisiana without regard to conflict of laws principles.
  • Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Ouachita Parish or in small claims court if applicable.
  • If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in effect.

10. Miscellaneous

  • These Terms constitute the entire agreement and supersede prior understandings.
  • We may amend these Terms at any time; continued use of services constitutes acceptance.
  • Force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters) excuse performance delays.
  • We may photograph completed work for our portfolio, website, and marketing materials. Serial numbers and customer identifying information are never shown. If you do not want your firearm photographed, notify us in writing on the work order.
  • We do not work on any CZ handguns.
  • Contact us at gunsmithing@deusvultarmory.com for questions.
By signing the work order or proceeding with services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. For any questions or concerns, reach out via email at gunsmithing@deusvultarmory.com.
